Maternity Leave(?)

I'm having a hard time putting myself on, and leaving myself in, maternity leave. I've committed myself to two traditional portrait shoots and a conceptual mini series shoot. Creating art just seems to have a deeper draw on me than resting. And so yesterday, when I couldn't handle being by myself with my toddler anymore, where I felt like the poor little guy was suffocating me with all his "love," I whipped out my camera and tripod, donned a wig, changed into a simple dress and started taking a picture. One that came into my mind so quickly and didn't fully develop until after I was done shooting all the elements; completely opposite from the way I usually work.

I'm sharing a little snapshot of part of the image. It's still very much in the works, but I thought you might be interested to see it in it's infancy.

Sometimes it's good to work in a way different from how you usually do. It was kind of fun to just start clicking the shutter willy-nilly as my mind freed itself from it's cute and cuddly burden and allowed me to be in my happy place for half and hour. I'm excited to show you this photograph in it's completion.
