Faith

Her world around her was bursting into flames, threatening the existence of all she knew. Threatening her own existence. There was nowhere to go. Nowhere that she knew she could go. But something unfamiliar came to her, grasped her, tried to pull her in. It was small, but it seemed to offer the promise of safety and life. It couldn't show her everything, but it could show her enough. She would have to trust, have to take the leap of faith if she was ever to survive.

I don't know that I have anymore to say about this image than I have already written. It was an image that just came to me as I was sitting working on some knitting. Or maybe it was as I was lying in bed ready for sleep to take over. Honestly I don't remember anymore. And it doesn't really matter. But I loved the image and the story followed as I looked at the colors that were taking place in the sky.

At the time of this photograph parts of the world were literally on fire. Some right here in Washington state. I can only imagine what it must be like to literally lose your entire world to a raging inferno; lose all you knew and cared for. I can only imagine that it does in fact take a leap of faith in order to continue on after a natural disaster.

What has required you to take a leap of faith?
