I was out all morning with a dear friend today. She's helping me put together the show this weekend, helping me get as close to my vision for the evening as possible. I love her. And as we were talking the bottom image put so succinctly what we envisioned. Photography isn't just about what we see, it creates feeling as well. Very often I'll take a photograph, like the ones from my Columbia River series, and I'll shoot what I feel instead of what I see. It's hard to adequately describe it in words, but when you have a camera in hand, an image in your heart, you know what it is I'm talking about.
